Supreme Court Allows N.Y. Vaccine Mandate for Health Workers (1)

The US Supreme Court turned away a challenge to New York’s Covid-19 vaccine requirement for health-care workers, rejecting an appeal from 16 people who objected to the shot on religious grounds.

The rebuff leaves in place a requirement that opponents said caused 37,000 doctors, nurses and other health-care workers to lose their jobs.

New York is one of three states, along with Maine and Rhode Island, that require vaccinations in the health-care industry without allowing a faith-based exemption.
