States Urge Curbing Idaho’s Ban on Helping Minors Get Abortions

An Idaho law that threatens to criminally punish people who help minors obtain legal abortions in other states must be blocked while a lawsuit proceeds to determine its constitutionality, 20 states and Washington, D.C., said.

Neighboring Washington led the states in a friend of the court brief filed in the US District Court for the District of Idaho on Monday to support the plaintiffs’ request for a temporary restraining order or preliminary injunction.
