Southwest, Union Loss to Anti-Abortion Worker Probed by 5th Cir.

Southwest Airlines Co. faced a seemingly skeptical Fifth Circuit Monday in trying to undo an anti-abortion flight attendant’s job bias trial victory and related “ideological” religious-liberty training for three airline lawyers.

At issue are the validity of a jury verdict finding Southwest and Transport Workers Union of America Local 556 discriminated against the Christian worker and retaliated against her for opposing the union’s attendance at the 2017 Women’s March on Washington, and Texas federal judge’s related judgment.
