The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York has launched a pilot program offering more “hands on” management by judges of complex civil cases, the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts announced Dec. 29.
During the 18-month pilot, a specific set of rules and procedures will be applied to all cases designated by the court as complex. The procedures affect nearly every aspect of the management of cases.
The pilot project began Nov. 1, 2011.
