Sony Asks California Justices to Toss Michael Jackson Fans’ Suit

Sony Music Entertainment asked the California Supreme Court on Tuesday to uphold the dismissal of a lawsuit claiming the company deceived consumers about whether certain tracks on a Michael Jackson album published after his death were really sung by the pop star.

Prior to Sony’s 2010 release of the album “Michael,” some Jackson family members disputed whether he was the singer on three of the album’s ten tracks. In response, Sony issued statements that they believe the tracks were authentic.
