A solvent trap manufacturer whose entire inventory was seized by federal agents because the gun cleaning tool can be illegally converted into a silencer failed to state a claim for damages against the agents who executed the search warrant, the Seventh Circuit said.
Ronald Fosnight’s company, Paraklese Technologies LLC, manufactured the solvent traps at a factory in Indiana. The traps themselves are legal, but converting them into a silencer without approval from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives is illegal.
