One federal district judge will now hear cases filed in three divisions of the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas, according to a new case assignment order.
US District Judge Wes Hendrix will preside over all civil and criminal cases at the court’s Lubbock, Abilene, and San Angelo divisions, under the Dec. 31 order. Hendrix previously heard all criminal cases at those courthouses, while Senior US District Judge Sam Cummings heard a third of the civil lawsuits filed there since 2019, when Hendrix was appointed.
