Socialist Equality Party Candidates Can’t Get on Michigan Ballot

The Socialist Equality Party’s candidates for president and vice president failed to convince the Sixth Circuit on Monday to put them on the ballot in Michigan because they couldn’t collect any signatures during the coronavirus pandemic.

Presidential candidate Joseph Kishore and vice presidential candidate Norissa Santa Cruz didn’t collect a single signature in the state in support of their candidacy before Gov. Gretchen Whitmer issued a stay-at-home order on March 23, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit said.
