Soccer Coach Says American University Should Face Bias Claims

A Black foreign soccer coach asked a federal appeals court in Washington to reinstate his claims that American University discriminated against him due to his race, ethnicity, and national origin when it didn’t offer him a job.

A lower court got it wrong when it ruled that a noncitizen applicant living outside the U.S. isn’t protected by federal civil rights law, David Nakhid told the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit on March 11.
