A prominent U.S. law firm had a deeper role than previously known in helping a Ukrainian leader suppress his main political opponent, court filings revealed Sept. 14.
The firm—not identified in the filings but previously described as Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom—produced a 2012 report that was used to justify the jailing of an opponent of Ukraine’s pro-Russian then-president, Viktor Yanukovych.
