Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and Kirkland & Ellis are advising two buyout firms on the acquisition of software provider Smartsheet Inc. for about $8.4 billion.
Fenwick & West is guiding Smartsheet in the take-private transaction expected to close in the fourth quarter of Smartsheet’s fiscal year ending January 31, 2025. Smartsheet’s software helps companies automate workflows.
Blackstone Inc. and Vista Equity Partners have agreed to pay $56.50 a share for Smartsheet, according to a statement. Simpson Thacher guided Blackstone and Kirkland & Ellis counseled Vista Equity Partners.
