Sheppard Mullin has announced it is furloughing more than 30 staffers for about two-to-three months, because they’re unable to perform their jobs from home.
The 33 firm staffers, out of 823 employed by the firm, include receptionists, support services workers, and file center employees, according to a firm statement issued Monday.
Sheppard Mullin is the latest Big Law firm to cut costs as a direct result of the economic impacts of the coronavirus pandemic. But the firm has for now avoided harsher cost-saving remedies other firms have put in place, including layoffs.
