Sex Offender Must Still Federally Register, Fifth Circuit Says

A man who sought to avoid federal sex offender registration is still required to register, the Fifth Circuit said in a reversal Tuesday, holding that his child pornography conviction disqualifies him from a registration reduction.

Nima Nazerzadeh was released from prison in 2010 after serving 60 months on two counts of distribution of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography involving the sexual exploitation of minors. The district court also sentenced him to a life term of supervised release.
