Senate GOP Releases Plan to Fund Trump’s Mass Deportation Agenda

The Trump administration would get around $150 billion to jail and deport more immigrants and bolster border barriers under a proposal from the Senate Judiciary Committee and a homeland security section of Republicans’ sweeping tax and spending package, a key funding stream for President Donald Trump’s mass deportation campaign.

The homeland text, released by Budget Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), is designed to supplant a plan from Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Chairman Rand Paul (R-Ky.), whose lower-cost plan was derided by Senate GOP colleagues as insufficient to fund Trump’s immigration agenda.
