Senate Democratic leaders are rallying against a provision in House Republicans’ sprawling domestic policy package that would limit judges’ authority to enforce their rulings.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) told reporters Thursday that his caucus will “fight to knock it out” during the review process under what’s known as the Byrd Rule, which requires legislation to have significant fiscal ties to advance in the chamber by majority vote.
“Our message to Republicans is: bring it on,” Schumer said at a press conference outside the Senate. “We’re going to use every tool in our toolbox to stop it.”
