The U.S. Senate confirmed nine federal trial court judges and set up final votes on two nominees for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit when it returns in 2022.
Before adjourning early Saturday, senators voted to confirm four district court judges for seats in California, two in Michigan and one each in Minnesota, New Mexico and Washington.
The Senate also invoked cloture on two Ninth Circuit nominees: Gabriel Sanchez and Holly Thomas. A confirmation vote for Sanchez is scheduled for Jan. 3.
