Security Guard Union Illegally Deducted Dues, NLRB Judge Rules

A union representing security guards at a federal building in Washington, D.C., must repay members for dues it collected after the workers voted to revoke its right to do so, a National Labor Relations Board judge ruled.

Administrative Law Judge Michael Rosas said Friday that the Governed United Security Professionals Union ignored multiple attempts from workers to cease union dues deductions from their paychecks.

The Golden SVCS LLC security guards, who work at the Federal Communications Commission building in Washington, voted to deauthorize GUSP in January 2022.
