Atlas Aegis LLC’s plans to deploy armed ex-soldiers to Minnesota polling stations is meant to intimidate voters and violates the Voting Rights Act of 1965, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in Minnesota federal court.
The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota by the Council on American-Islamic Relations—Minnesota and the League of Women Voters of Minnesota.
“Sending private, armed militias to Minnesota’s polling stations violates federal law,” the complaint says. “It must be stopped.”
