Kids’ Online Safety, Privacy Bills Poised for Senate Vote (1)

As pressure mounts for Congress to rein in major social media companies, the Senate this week will move to consider a pair of leading bipartisan bills that aim to make the internet safer for kids.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on Tuesday plans to announce that he will bring the Kids Online Safety Act (S. 1409), or KOSA, and the Children and Teens’ Online Privacy Protection Act (S. 1418), or COPPA 2.0, to the floor for a procedural vote as soon as Thursday, his office said.
