Satanist Loses Challenge to Illinois Adultery, Fornication Laws

An Illinois Satanist lost his second challenge to state laws prohibiting bigamy, adultery, and fornication, the Seventh Circuit said.

Kenneth Mayle said his religion prescribes “sex magick rituals” that he believes violate Illinois’ adultery and fornication laws. He also said he wants to marry more than one person at a time.

Mayle’s case was rightly dismissed, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit said.
