All registered San Francisco voters would receive mail-in ballots for the Nov. 3 election under an ordinance the Board of Supervisors approved Tuesday in response to the coronavirus pandemic and concerns Covid-19 might surge again this fall.
The legislation, approved on an 11-0 vote, isn’t much of a stretch in a city where 70% of voters are permanently registered to vote by mail. The measure now heads to Mayor London Breed (D) who has 10 days to consider it.
