Rollout of No Surprises Act Arbitration ‘Challenging,’ GAO Says

More than 490,000 disputes had been submitted for arbitration under the No Surprises Act as of June, but the roll out of the independent dispute resolution process to address the mountain of claims has been “challenging,” the US Government Accountability Office said in a new report.

Just over 60% of the disputes between health-care providers and insurers over how much should be paid for out-of-network claims under the law were unresolved as of June, the GAO said on Tuesday.
