A reasonable jury wouldn’t find that anti-male bias influenced a sexual harassment investigation against a Rollins College student, a federal appeals court said.
The US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit said on Monday that the lower court properly excluded testimony from the anonymous student’s expert witness and found there weren’t any discernible patterns of “gender-biased decision-making.”
A fellow student accused John Doe of sexually assaulting her. Rollins investigated and determined that Doe had violated its sexual misconduct policy. Although he was allowed to graduate, he was barred from commencement ceremonies and future alumni events, among other sanctions.
