The federal judiciary’s policy making body agreed to let courts keep live streaming proceedings but with new restrictions.
In a meeting on Tuesday, the Judicial Conference of the United States voted to allow remote public access to audio of civil and bankruptcy proceedings when there’s no witness testimony.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, courts were allowed to live stream audio of all proceedings because courthouses were forced to close and then limit the number of people in their galleries when they reopened.
That policy expires Sept. 21.
