Raytheon Sheds Claims That Migrating Contaminants Caused Cancer

Raytheon Technologies Corp. won’t face claims that contamination from its jet engine facility in Palm Beach County, Fla., caused a woman’s kidney cancer because her surviving husband failed to establish causation, a federal appeals court affirmed.

Marcos Pinares alleged that chemical compounds classified by the federal government as “reasonably anticipated” human carcinogens migrated from the facility to the groundwater beneath his home in The Acreage community eight miles away, causing his wife Magaly to develop cancer.
