An associate professor at Purdue University wasn’t discriminated against based on sex when the school refused to promote her, a federal appeals court affirmed.
Bowei Xi, a statistics professor at the Indiana-based university, didn’t provide enough evidence to find sex discrimination in Purdue’s decision not to promote her to full professor or to reconsider the denial, the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit said in an unpublished opinion Wednesday.
