A draft rule that would give federal judges initial directions in overseeing multidistrict litigation cleared an advisory panel after intensive public commentary about how those guidelines should be laid out.
The judicary’s Advisory Committee on Civil Rules approved the new language at a meeting Tuesday in Denver.
The proposal, written by a subcommittee, now goes to the Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure, also known as the Standing Committee, for consideration at a June meeting.
