A Texas bankruptcy judge said he’s looking for greater clarity on claims being settled as part of a controversial deal involving the bankrupt shell company of a prison healthcare provider facing hundreds of personal injury lawsuits.
Judge Christopher Lopez of the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas intends to home in on the mechanics of a complex deal advanced by Chapter 11 debtor Tehum Care Services Inc. that would release claims against the company’s corporate affiliates, the judge said Friday at the start of a multi-day trial.
