Princeton Must Face Male Student’s Sex Bias Suit After Expulsion

A sex discrimination lawsuit against Princeton University by a former male student was erroneously dismissed by a federal district court in New Jersey, the Third Circuit said Thursday.

John Doe sued the university, claiming its investigation of sexual misconduct claims by an ex-girlfriend, Jane Roe, was biased against him and that the university downplayed his complaints. The appeals court reinstated the lawsuit.

Doe said he was in a tumultuous relationship with Roe while both were students at Princeton. Violent arguments were common, as was rough sex.
