Police Must Face Suit Over Teen Fatally Injured While on LSD

Police officers who transported a teenager to jail that they knew was on LSD must face his parents’ the civil rights suit after he sustained fatal injuries by violently banging his head 46 times against the patrol car’s interior, the Fifth Circuit said.

The Mesquite, Texas, officers aren’t entitled to qualified immunity from the suit by Graham Dyer’s parents that alleges they violated his due process rights by being deliberately indifferent to his serious medical needs, the opinion by Judge Stuart K. Duncan said.
