Pipeline for Female Supreme Court Advocates Shows Some Cracks

The gender breakdown in Supreme Court oral arguments remains largely unchanged from half a decade ago despite gains in other sectors of the legal profession.

Leaky Pipeline: The solicitor general’s office now has fewer women assistants arguing than it did several years ago under Don Verilli’s tenure.

Someone Like Me: “There’s always tremendous power in being able to look at accomplishment within any profession and see there are people like me who have attained this,” said Ginger Anders of Munger, Tolles & Olson. “To see that this is a path that is open to me.” Jake Holland reports.
