Perkins Coie has opened an Austin, Texas, office with alumni from Vinson & Elkins and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.
The Austin outpost is Seattle-based Perkins Coie’s 20th office globally, as it looks to establish a strong tech-based practice in the Lone Star state. The firm first entered the Texas market a decade ago, opening a Dallas office which has since grown to 30 lawyers. Perkins Coie plans is to build up its Austin office to 10 to 15 partners in a short period of time, said a firm spokesman.
