Pentagon R&D Tech Plans Highlight Rising Dollars for Top Vendors

Northrop Grumman is on track to most easily take advantage of a new road map for winning research and development contracts from the Pentagon with the release of a strategy document centered on keeping the US on pace with rivals.

The contracting giant brought in $4.3 billion in R&D contract work last year, up from nearly $3 billion in 2021 and $1.7 billion the year before that, according to Bloomberg Government data. Lockheed Martin is the top seller in the space, but its contract wins haven’t grown nearly as fast as Northrop’s.
