Prospect Medical Holdings Inc. must face a proposed class action alleging it negligently failed to protect the personal information of more than 190,000 people that was exposed in a July 2023 data breach.
The plaintiffs adequately alleged that they had suffered concrete injuries sufficient for standing to sue in federal court, and adequately stated claims of negligence and violations of the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act, Judge Wendy Beetlestone of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said Tuesday.
