Palestinian Groups Seek Judge’s Recusal Over Israel Trip (1)

Palestinian groups are seeking the recusal of a Ninth Circuit judge set to hear their case alleging that the US government has failed to prevent a genocide in Gaza, pointing to a trip he took to Israel earlier this year.

In a filing late Tuesday, attorneys for the Palestinian parties said that Judge Ryan Nelson attended a trip “which was explicitly designed to influence U.S. judicial opinion regarding the legality of ongoing Israeli military action against Palestinians—a core question on appeal of this case.”
