The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited Georgia construction contractor NOR-D LLC for failing to provide fall protection systems to workers on a roof at heights of 19 feet, the agency announced Tuesday.
OSHA has proposed $61,065 in penalties after an employee suffered fatal injuries by stepping on a skylight and falling. The company did not report within eight hours the death resulting from a work-related incident.
The company also failed to install covers or guardrails on the roof’s skylights, and it did not train forklift operators to operate powered industrial trucks, according to the announcement.
