Oklahoma Challenge to McGirt Ruling Withdrawn as Others Loom

Oklahoma is withdrawing an appeal challenging the U.S. Supreme Court’s McGirt ruling, but the state still wants to topple last year’s landmark American Indian law precedent with other petitions.

Officials filed the challenge last month, represented by Kannon Shanmugam of Paul Weiss, in the case of Shaun Michael Bosse. Since the filing, Oklahoma prevailed against Bosse in state court, leading to a joint motion for Supreme Court dismissal on Friday.
