Ohio attorneys can’t buy the names of rival law firms to use in competitor keyword online advertising because it violates ethics rules on deception, the state ethics board said.
“The advertising lawyer is attempting to deceive the consumer into selecting the advertising lawyer or law firm’s website, as opposed to the intended lawyer or law firm,” the Ohio Professional Conduct Board said June 11.
