Ohio Commission’s Out-of-State Wind Farm Decision Is Appealable

A group representing Ohio renewable-energy suppliers may pursue its appeal of the state public utility commission’s decision to allow out-of-state wind farms access to the state’s energy market, the Ohio Supreme Court said Tuesday.

Six out-of-state wind farms applied for access to Ohio’s energy market. The Public Utility Commission of Ohio granted them certification. Carbon Solutions Group, L.L.C., which represents Ohio renewable-energy suppliers, intervened and challenged the application. On Sept. 20, 2023, PUCO approved all six applications and CSG filed an application for rehearing on Oct. 20.
