NYU Beats Sex Discrimination Suit by Student Cleared of Rape

New York University shook off a sex discrimination suit by a male student whose suspension for an alleged sexual assault was later overturned, after the Southern District of New York found no evidence that the school treated similarly situated females differently.

The court rejected the plaintiff’s argument that a “minimal plausible inference” of bias on account of sex is enough to proceed with his Title IX claim.

The plaintiff, identified as John Doe, also failed to show discriminatory intent, the U.S. District Court for Southern District of New York said Wednesday.
