NY Legal Trainer Defends Relief From Unauthorized Practice Law

The New York Attorney General should continue to be barred from enforcing statutes prohibiting the unauthorized practice of law against Upsolve Inc., which trains non-attorneys to provide advice for those hit with debt-collection lawsuits, the company argued on Wednesday.

Upsolve asked the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit to uphold a preliminary injunction against New York Attorney General Letitia James.
