The New York State Unified Court System again is facing claims alleging it systemically discriminates against blind people who report to jury duty, in a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Brooklyn federal court.
The complaint alleges the court system and the Kings County Commissioner of Jurors failed to accommodate Brooklyn resident Albert Elia with assistive technology or auxiliary aids when he reported for grand jury duty in October 2024.
