Nintendo Again Beats Switch Patent Claims in Infringement Suit

Nintendo Co. and its American unit defeated allegations that their popular Switch video game console and its detachable Joy-Con controllers infringed multiple claims of two Gamevice Inc. patents, a California federal judge ruled.

Gamevice couldn’t prove that the Nintendo Switch practices certain claims within the limitations of US Patent Nos. 9,808,713 and 10, 391,393, Chief Judge Richard Seeborg of the US District Court for the Northern District of California ruled Tuesday in an order granting the Japanese video game mainstay summary judgment. The patents concern a game controller with a structural bridge.
