NFT Investors Sue Gallery Over Metaverse, Cryptocurrency Scam

An art gallery was accused of selling over $13 million worth of non-fungible tokens showing anthropomorphized eagles in various outfits and costumes under the false pretense of providing access to a private club in the metaverse, according to a new investor lawsuit.

The proposed class of 36 plaintiffs says Eden Gallery Group Ltd., artist Gal Yosef, and others engaged in a “rug pull” by collecting millions from investors and doing nothing in return, according to the complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
