The National Football League and The Associated Press must face copyright infringement claims by independent sports photographers, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit ruled.
The photographers said in their lawsuit that their contracts with the AP, which licensed the photos to the NFL, didn’t give the league permission to use their work for free, according to the Sept. 11 ruling.
