New York’s Gun Licensing Training Requirement Can Move Forward

A New York law that requires applicants for a concealed-carry gun license to undergo 18 hours of firearms training is likely constitutional and can continue to be enforced, the Second Circuit said Friday.

The US Supreme Court’s Second Amendment precedents say that a firearms training requirement is presumptively valid, the unpublished and unsigned opinion said for the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
