Nevada Restricts Children’s Work Hours, Limits Night Work

Nevada is reducing the maximum weekly work hours for children under age 16 to 40 from 48, under a bill that will go into effect Oct. 1.

The maximum daily work hours for these children remains eight hours, under state law. Work hour restrictions apply to any child under age 16 who does not work on a farm or is employed as a performer in a motion picture.

AB 215 also prevents most children ages 16 to 19 from working at any time from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. if they have school the following day. The only children exempt ...
