Joshua Kolar, a federal magistrate judge and Navy Reserve officer, won confirmation to the the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Kolar, was confirmed Tuesday, by a 66-25 margin to an Indiana-based seat on the court, which is based in Chicago.
The easy confirmation, the first to an appellate court in 2024, reflects recent efforts by the Democratic-led White House and home-state Senate Republicans to agree on judicial nominations.
