New York City lawyers required to go to court on behalf of a client must withdraw from representation if they determine they have a unwaivable conflict due to the coronavirus pandemic, the city bar association said.
“In light of the ongoing public health crisis, a lawyer may understandably be hesitant to return to court, especially if doing so poses a significant health and safety risk for the lawyer or the lawyer’s family,” the New York City Bar said in a Dec. 2 opinion.
