A New Jersey attorney who was found to have fabricated a settlement agreement in a personal injury case because he never told the client that the case had been dismissed was suspended for one year by the state’s highest court.
The New Jersey Supreme Court on March 16 adopted the state disciplinary board’s October 2019 findings that Edward McElroy should be suspended for gross neglect, lack of diligence, failure to communicate with client, failure to cooperate with disciplinary authorities, and conduct involving dishonesty.
